Fresh off back-to-back sold-out screenings, Maybe It’s Just the Rain comes home to San Francisco. Created by Fil-Am filmmaker and professional footballer Reina Bonta, the short documentary follows the Philippines’ historic debut at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and traces a personal journey of identity, ancestry, and representation through the eyes of Reina and her grandmother.

This free and family-friendly community event includes a post-screening panel with Reina and her grandmother, Cynthia Bonta, and Jennifer San Juan of the SF Giants, moderated by Carolyn Sideco of Coaching Kapwa. Plus a mini soccer tournament, Filipino food and ice cream, and a raffle featuring:
